What are your clients asking for when you refer them on to Smetric Insights?
Clients come to us when they want to go further than the standard reporting that come out of these systems. They want to analyse their data to a deeper level so that they can use it for better forecasting and predictive analytics. They want:
- Better information on what products to sell and who to
- Better job costing efficiencies
- Better management of stock and reordering
- Information in the hands of those who need it, easily
A great example is our mutual client, Walker Brothers Transport. They have a view of which customers haven’t ordered, but would be expected to, based on their previous purchasing history. This is in contrast to another Beyond Expectations client who is on Cin7. The client is resisting going the next step to using the likes of Smetric to automate the deeper analysis he needs. He wants to keep his own empire of analysis in Excel. It makes him feel valuable to be the keeper of information. But it creates a whole lot of work and doesn’t get the information easily to others who need it.
What value does Beyond Expectations get out of involving Smetric Insights?
It is usually the more progressive clients that come back to us a while after they have mastered the basics of their systems. The conversation is often around getting better forecasting capability as the reports out of many of their systems are very basic. But that’s not our area of expertise. Smetric Insights are the experts in analysing data and reporting. It’s good to know that we can offer it through Smetric, but we want to stick to our knitting. We feel that it’s a feather in our cap and adds to our reputation to be able to offer Smetric’s services and add value to our clients that way.
